Chartres light show is magnificent to behold. This after dark light and sound show on the Gothic cathedrals and historic buildings in Chartres is an amazing experience. You can get a map at the tourist information center which outlines the buildings that participate but if it is your first experience, I suggest you take the little tram that boards in front of the main cathedral.

What follows is a collection of the various sights along the route. The predominant focus is on the changing Cathedral. I could have watched Chartres Light Show all night. Enjoy!

I loved the show on the face of the main cathedral as it evolved. It was mesmerizing. However,  I think the St-Aignan Church was my favorite. The pastoral scenes were wonderful!  The flat surface of the front of the church made the pictures so much more distinct.

Many of the larger towns in  France have similar light shows during the summer. Check with the tourist information office wherever you are and ask for the route of the show.
